One of the Black Country's most iconic pubs has been bought out of administration, saving 15 jobs. West Midlands law firm FBC Manby Bowdler advised on the acquisition of Mad O'Rourkes Pie Factory from administrator PKF.

The pub, which creates famously huge pies, was purchased by P&S Pies.

Corporate solicitor Stuart Downes and partner in the commercial property department, Matthew Lloyd, advised the new owner on its takeover of the pub and restaurant in Tipton.

Mad O'Rourkes is famous for its huge pies, including the 4lb in weight Desperate Dan’s Cow Pie, which comes complete with pastry horns.

Downes said: "We are delighted to have helped save one of the Black Country’s best known pubs and eating establishments and secure the future of Desparate Dan’s Cow Pie."

FBC Manby Bowdler has offices in Wolverhampton, Willenhall, Telford, Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth.
