Skan Group Holdings, based in Solihull, has bought Reynolds Boughton out of administration. Reynolds Boughton, which manufactures waste handling equipment, has a site in Staffordshire.

Details of the deal were not disclosed.

The two companies had been in administration under Baker Tilly since 1 April and were sold as a going concern.

The new single entity will be known as Boughton Engineering Limited.

Administrator Graham Bushby said: "We are delighted a successful sale could be achieved so quickly. It is excellent news that the business will continue as a UK manufacturer and that many jobs will be preserved. With the Skan Group’s commitment to investment and development of the business, the future for the business now looks bright and we wish them every success for the future."

The Boughton Group employs about 40 people from sites in Winkleigh, Devon and Barton-under-Needwood, Staffordshire. Typical annualised turnover is £7m.
