D2N2 to face East Mids businesses
East Midlands businesses are being invited to find out about the progress of the Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire (D2N2) LEP at an event at Alliance Boots’ offices in Beeston.
The event, open to companies from both counties, starts at 8am on Monday (9 May) and has been organised by the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce. The new LEP said the event has been designed to "ensure that businesses are kept fully up-to-date with all the latest LEP developments".
The LEP will be unveiling the new D2N2 LEP website and details of the first round of bidding for cash from the Regional Growth Fund, which saw just one of 38 bids from the two counties succeed. It will also give further information about the second round of bidding, which is now open.
Chief executive of the chamber George Cowcher said: "The D2N2 LEP has made significant strides forward since it was established last October and the purpose of this event is to update businesses across both counties about the progress that has been made to date.
"Business involvement is the key to building a strong LEP here in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire and this event will give local businesses the opportunity to get involved, as well as giving them an understanding of how the LEP works, what its strategic priorities are and what it plans to do to drive our economy forward."
