£630m contracts follow Carillion deal
Carillion Energy Services has won contracts worth £630m, it has been announced. The news comes weeks after Wolverhampton-headquartered Carillion took over Newcastle-based green energy business Eaga in a £306m deal.
Now known as Carillion Energy Services, the contracts include a £300m solar power project. The privately financed scheme involves installing and providing lifetime maintenance services for Solar Photovoltaic panels on the roofs of more than 30,000 domestic dwellings in the UK.
The company has also secured a £210m extension to its contract with the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change to deliver the Warm Front Scheme up to March 2013, and contracts to deliver carbon reduction measures for energy companies worth approximately £120m.
The Newcastle company has been rebranded following its acquisition by Carillion, announced in February and completed last month.
At Carillion’s AGM, chairman Philip Rogerson said: "The combination of Carillion and Eaga brings together two highly complementary businesses and will significantly extend the scope of our integrated support services offering for new and existing customers.
"Our expectations for this acquisition remain unchanged, namely that it will be immediately earnings enhancing and add to our previously announced prospects for growth in 2011 and over the medium term."
