Norbert Dentressangle hits £673m sales
Revenues at Northampton-based Norbert Dentressangle reached €750m (£673.5m) in the first quarter of 2011. The logistics company said the 7 per cent like-for-like rise had created a "favourable environment" for the integration of the recently acquired TDG.
The company's transport division grew 8.6 per cent on a like-for-like basis over the first quarter.
Revenue in the logistics business was up 4.4 per cent like-for-like. The France-headquartered business said the growth trend "was observed in all geographical regions, and particularly the United Kingdom, Italy and the Netherlands."
A year after its launch, the new freight forwarding activity generated revenue of €10m (£8m) in the first quarter.
The £196m acquisition of Manchester-based TDG was finalised on 28 March 2011.
Norbert Dentressangle’s chief executive officer François Bertreau said: "During this first quarter, all of our UK-based activities in transport, logistics, and freight forwarding have built on the steady growth trends recorded last year. This creates a favourable environment for the swift and smooth integration of TDG, which we acquired at the end of March."
