Chopstix picks up Leicester site

Restaurant operator Chopstix has acquired a site on Galloway Gate in Leicester. The Chinese buffet operator has signed a 20-year lease on the four-storey building.

Chopstix has taken 6,250 sq ft at 45-47 Gallowtree Gate, on which the annual rent totals £125,000.

The restaurant, part of The Noodle Oodle Group, will operate from two of the four floors taken following a fit-out.

Staffordshire County Council, which owns the building, agreed terms on the lease following the administration of previous occupier, clothing and homeware retailer Joy.

Colliers International advised the landlords on the deal. Emel Ahmet, a senior surveyor in the retail agency team at the firm’s Birmingham office, said: "Chopstix’s investment will hopefully draw other leisure operators to the area. Noodle Oodle Group’s 20-year commitment certainly signals their confidence."

Davis Coffer Lyons represented Chopstix.
