DTEC snapped up by Engenda
DTEC Site Services, based in Staffordshire, has been bought by engineering group Engenda. Runcorn-based Engenda said the move was a continuation of its buy-and-build strategy.
DTEC was founded in 2005 by Steve Colcough and has enjoyed rapid growth within the petrochemical shutdown and maintenance sector.
Engenda said the deal would provide DTEC with the investment required to sustain its growth and develop its capability to provide a wider range of mechanical services.
Les O’Hare, chairman of Engenda, added that the purchase was "a major step" in the group's plans to broaden its operations. He added that the business expects to make further acquisitions in 2011.
In a statement, the company said: "Everyone within the Engenda Group is excited by the opportunities for growth, and associated challenges that face all of us as we establish a world-class brand across the UK and overseas."
Engenda is the latest venture from O’Hare who sold his previous business, Runcorn-based O’Hare Engineering, to a German business Bilfiger Berger for around £30m in 2007.
Last year Engenda bought Lectec Services and Advance Control Engineering Solutions. It also brought in Lee Foundation, formerly of industrial services company Cape, as managing director.
