Garland strikes with Lakeside Superbowl

Share | |

Garland Leisure has acquired Lakeside Superbowl in Stirchley, Birmingham. The buy builds on Garland's portfolio of entertainment centres, which was recently boosted by a ten-strong acquisition of AMF Bowling Centres.

Property consultant Edward Symmons acted for Kent-based Garland in a lease assignment by the landlord, a private investor.

The business was formerly run by Newbury Leisure.

The acquisition follows Garland's purchase of ten tenpin bowling centres from AMF Bowling last year and three acquisitions in February – of Blackpool Bowl, Aldershot Bowling and Strykers in Wolverhampton.

Further announcements regarding future acquisitions are expected shortly, said the agent.

The first floor bowling centre comprises 18 lanes together with bar, cafeteria and an amusement area.

Mehdi Afshar of Garland Leisure said:"This latest acquisition confirms our continuing drive for expansion and will fit well into our expanding portfolio. We intend to refurbish the centre and reopen as soon as possible."
