Jobs generated with Trent Lock opening

Up to 30 jobs have been created with the re-opening of a pub in Long Eaton. The Trent Lock will operate as a Mitchells & Butlers pub after being acquired by the chain earlier this year.

The Trent Lock, formerly The Trent Navigation, has been refurbished by Midlands-based restaurant and pub company Mitchells & Butlers. It will now operate as one of the brand's Vintage Inns pub restaurants.

A new kitchen, staff facilities and extended bar have all been included in the refurbishment.

Nicola Yeomans, regional business manager for Vintage Inns, said: "This is a serious commitment by Mitchells & Butlers, and our renovations and future plans will put The Trent Lock back on the East Midlands country dining map where it belongs.

"We’ll have a clean, contemporary look, but it will be a loving and tasteful restoration in keeping with the character and rustic appeal of the fine old building. The old world charm will still prevail, but we’ll also provide the modern comforts and amenities that guests come to expect nowadays."
