Hydraulics company expands with warehouse deal
CD Engineering has tripled its workspace. The company, which makes products for mine disposal in Afghanistan and the undersea search for oil, has moved from two locations in Redditch to the town’s North Moons Moat industrial estate.
The company’s former workspace totalled 2,000sq ft. It has now moved into a 6,843sq ft factory and warehouse on the estate.
CD Engineering manufactures hydraulic manifolds and supplies its products to the Ministry of Defence, the oil and gas sector, agriculture, JCB and Caterpillar.
The company has taken a ten-year lease on Unit 6, Thornhill Road at £24,000 a year rent.
In 2010 the company had a turnover of £800,000, which it hopes to raise to £1m this year.
Midlands property agent John Truslove advised the deal.
Truslove said: “It is a great story – one of the West Midlands’ many SME gems. It just shows how this region remains at the heart of the engineering world.”
