AWM assets in sell-off
Thirteen property assets owned by Advantage West Midlands (AWM) are to be sold on the open market under plans announced by the government. They are the first in a series of properties set to be sold off.
Sites include: the former Kington College Hospital; unit one of Golden Hillcock Road in Birmingham; Wem timber yard; Birmingham’s Eastside development; the city’s Corus site; Stoneleigh and Icecentral.
Four properties in the Stoke business district are up for grabs, alongside the former Rontokil site; the former E.On substation at Bromsgrove Technology Park; Chatterley valley and James Bridge in Darlaston.
Last month the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) confirmed that a large proportion of land and property assets owned by abolished regional development agencies (RDAs) would be sold on the open market.
It ruled out “gifting” them to local enterprise partnerships or local authorities.
