HS2 - have your say
Insider will be running a special feature on high-speed rail in its June issue and we’d like to hear your views on the controversial plans to build the country’s second high-speed rail route (HS2) between London and Birmingham.
If you would like to take part, please answer the relevant questions from the following five and send your submission back to Insider editor Andy Coyne before 26 April. We will be publishing our survey results as part of the feature and your views may also be quoted in the article (unless you state otherwise). The questions are:
Do you think HS2 would be good news or bad news for the Midlands economy? Please give reasons for your answer.
If you think it is good news, do you think it would be of benefit to the whole of the Midlands or just the Birmingham area?
If you think HS2 is a bad idea, what would your suggestion be for dealing with the capacity issues we are already facing within the rail network?
If your view of HS2 is negative, is that because of the way it has been presented or do you think high speed rail projects are a bad idea generally?
If you think HS2 is a good idea, what do you think it would mean for this region if it doesn’t happen?
