Eight West Midlands companies have made it onto the Sunday Times PwC Profit Track 100 list. The list names the UK’s top 100 private companies with the fastest-growing profits over the last three years.

The top performer from the region is Stoke-on-Trent-based Bet365. The company is named on the table at number 13, a drop from its number three placing last year. Annual sales growth over the last three years was 108 per cent, said the online betting shop.

Birmingham’s Aston Manor Brewery was the second top performer from the region at number 35. The beer and cider brewery reported annual sales growth of 69 per cent over the period.

Discount retail giant Poundland also appears on the chart at number 37 – a huge leap from its 2010 placing of 87. The Willenhall-based company recorded profit growth of 67 per cent.

Apex Credit Management, based in Stratford-upon-Avon, and Coventry-headquartered IT service PCMS also entered the list at numbers 38 and 41 respectively.

Pharmaceuticals distributor Lexon, based in Redditch, made it to number 70 while car parts supplier Britpart, based in Shropshire, was named at number 74. Care home operator Craegmoor, based in Worcester, rounded off the list of West Midlands companies at number 85.

Mark Smith, regional chairman at title sponsor PwC in the Midlands, said: “It’s great to see that so many privately-owned Midlands companies have increased their profits over the last three years. Their achievement is making a positive contribution to the local economy and crating a solid platform for job creation.”
