Rugby-based construction company Stepnell has been appointed to design and build a £1.2m warehouse and office development in Northampton.

Stepnell was appointed by agent Broadley Properties, based in Northampton.

The company will build the 10,925 sq ft warehouse and two-storey office building at an industrial site in Gladstone Road, King’s Heath.

Stepnell will demolish existing industrial units to make way for the new facilities, aiming to achieve a BREEAM rating of 'very good'.

The unit will be occupied by industrial cleaning equipment supplier Tennant.

Mark Wakeford, Stepnell’s managing director, said: “We are delighted to have been selected by Broadley Properties to design and build this important new facility. We have considerable experience of delivering this type of industrial development which will help to address the need for high-quality commercial business space in the area.”

GSS Architecture, based in Kettering, has also been appointed to the scheme.
