New Entrepreneur of the Year Hayled
David Hayle, managing director of the PJD Group, has been named the 2011 'Entrepreneur of the Year'. Hayle was presented with the accolade at the Leicestershire Business Awards.
The 18th annual awards ceremony was held to celebrate the achievements of businesses throughout the county.
Hayle joined PJD Group, a small mechanical engineering company, five years ago. The business now employs about 150 people and has a turnover of £35m.
Nick Evans, head of business development at PJD, nominated Hayle for the award. He said: “The award I’m sure will be one of many as this company expands over the next coming years, and with David at the helm, PJD is very much ‘one to watch’.”
Hayle said: “The award is not only a recognition of my achievements over the recent years but those of my team and colleagues, who have helped to polish the company from a rough cut stone into a true diamond.”
