Allied Healthcare, headquartered in Staffordshire, has acquired ScotHomecare for £2.5m. The deal was advised by Birmingham-based law firm Mills and Reeve.

Allied Healthcare is the NASDAQ listed provider of flexible healthcare staffing services. Old Kilpatrick-based ScotHomecare is a domiciliary homecare business with ten UK branches.

The transaction will make Allied Healthcare the largest provider of domiciliary care in Scotland.

The Mills and Reeve team was led by corporate partner Julian Smith and associate, Stephen Hamilton. Kathleen Stewart WS advised the sellers, law firm Brodies provided advice to Allied, and Shepherd & Wedderburn advised Bank of Scotland.

Allied Healthcare’s chief financial officer, Paul Weston, said: “The ScotHomecare acquisition is in line with our strategy of expanding Allied’s geographic footprint. The transaction will provide Allied with a market leading position in Scotland.

"We were supported by the corporate legal team at Mills & Reeve who demonstrated a high level of commitment to ensure we successfully completed the transaction and they provided sound commercial advice tailored to our specific interests.”
