Acquisition lends turnover boost to Inn Express
Warwickshire drinks and snacks supplier Inn Express said it is on target to reach a £5.5m turnover this year. The company said it would increase income by £800,000 compared to last year after acquiring a nearby competitor.
The family-run business distributes wine, beer, ales, spirits, soft drinks and premium bar snacks to outlets across the South Midlands.
Inn Express purchased Stratford-based Little Drinks in November last year, using an enterprise finance guarantee (EFG) loan from Lloyds TSB Commercial.
The bank also funded Inn Express’ purchase of Redditch distributor Ma’sden in 2008.
After achieving a turnover of £4.7m last year, Inn Express – which employs 33 people – has revealed it is now on course to reach £5.5m this year.
Dennis Hall, chairman of Inn Express, said: “The acquisitions of Ma’sden and Little Drinks were essential if we were to going to be able to match our competitors on price through greater economies of scale. They’ve also helped us to grow our market share in the Midlands.
“We’re a family-run business so my aim has always been to ensure the company’s future so that my sons can drive the company forward in years to come. Our recent expansion has taken me much closer to achieving that goal.”
