Driver steers African JV
Driver Group Africa, which has its UK headquarters in Northampton, has signed a joint venture agreement with Australian business Evans & Peck. Under the agreement, the companies will work together on energy, resource and infrastructure projects in Africa.
Evans & Peck is part of the WorleyParsons group. Driver Group Africa is a subsidiary of the Rossendale-based Driver and has operations in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Northampton in the UK.
Driver also announced that the subsidiary has been selected as preferred bidder for the PPP procurement of the Dr George Mukhari Hospital, in Gauteng, South Africa.
The new hospital will include between 600 and 800 beds and is regarded as a "national priority" in South Africa, having been announced by the president in his 2010 State of the Nation speech.
The Driver Group team includes KPMG South Africa, DLA Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr, Health Partners, EHH Architects and KV3/WorleyParsons.
