BDP gains Pain

Share | |

Martin Pain has been appointed architect director at BDP Birmingham Studio, Insider can reveal. Pain, who won Insider’s Architect of the Year award in 2010, joins the firm from Glenn Howells Architects.

BDP said Pain had been recruited to allow the company to improve its design of commercial and residential projects.

During his time at Glenn Howells Architects, Pain specialised in residential-led regeneration.

He said: “My first projects at BDP will be a new dense residential community in central Amsterdam; think ‘Superdutch’, and a regeneration project in Edgbaston; think ‘fine grain repair’, and it is this mix of high profile local and international work that is immediately appealing.

“Since winning two awards in 2010 the studio is moving from its launch phase in Birmingham towards maturity and I will be driving growth of its diverse portfolio and talented team to become a major regional design presence.”
