Two recruited to LEP board
Two additional private sector directors have been appointed to the Coventry and Warwickshire LEP. Vikki Heywood, executive director of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), and Amrik Bhabra, who runs IT and business consultancy firm Adecs, both join the board.
The LEP board now has seven directors from the private sector and five from the public sector. It also includes representatives from Coventry University and the University of Warwick.
Denys Shortt, chief executive of Stratford-based DCS Europe and chair of the LEP, said: "Vikki heads up what is a huge worldwide brand which is worth in excess of £60m to our economy. She has great experience and is very well connected on a national level.
"Amrik’s company is a leading local IT firm and again – through his active role at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce – is very well connected. He has just launched the Warwick Business Growth Network locally."
Heywood was appointed executive of the RSC in 2003 and is a member of the company’s board.
Bhabra has worked for Adecs for 18 years. He is vice-president of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, and chairman of the Coventry branch.
