Commercial property company MAG Developments has hosted a "topping out" ceremony to mark the completion of the highest point in the structure of its £22m East Midlands Airport hotel.

The five-storey Radisson Blu hotel, at Pegasus Business Park, will be operated by the Azure Property Group.

It was also revealed at the ceremony that Daniel Keane would take on the position of general manager of the 218-bed hotel.

Azure said it had recently agreed a deal with MAG Developments to take 1,500 sq ft of office space at Pegasus Business Park for back of house functions, plus recruitment and training.

Keane said: “It is great to see the hotel reach this important milestone – the Radisson Blu East Midlands Airport will be one of the premier hotels in the region with first class facilities and the finest conference and meeting facilities in the area, thus supporting both business travellers and local businesses alike.”

The hotel, which includes eight executive suites, restaurant, bar and leisure facilities, has been awarded the highest ever BREEAM (energy efficiency) rating for a commercial hotel.
