BID board named

Birmingham’s Southside Business Improvement District (BID) has announced its board of directors and BID manager ahead of its launch on Friday.

The organisation has appointed the following directors to the board: Christopher Pike - Radisson Blu; Wei Du - Ming Moon; Lawrence Barton - The Loft Lounge; Thomas Lawes - The Electric Cinema; Andy Webb - Legal & General; Sara Hickin - British Association of Social Workers; Joanne Salmon - London and Cambridge Properties; Paul Garry - Gallan Group and Charles Gillett - Pennycuick Collins.

The board will be chaired by chief executive of Birmingham Hippodrome, Stuart Griffiths.

In addition, a further three stakeholder directors have been appointed: Chief superintendent Chris Mckeogh representing West Midlands Police; councillor Timothy Huxtable and councillor Steve Bedser, both representing Birmingham City Council.

Stuart Griffiths said: “The appointment of the board directors and BID manager now allows us to be in a strong position where we can start delivering tangible changes and improvements.

"Southside offers something really exciting and different for people living, working and visiting the city centre and we look forward to working collaboratively to promote and enhance the existing offer.”

The Southside BID will officially launch this Friday, 1 April.
