All go for Stafford College plans
Planners have given the green light for Stafford College to redevelop its campus in Earl Street, Stafford. The multimillion-pound scheme, designed by CPMG Architects, is to replace existing buildings and house a new learning resource centre, café, bistro, restaurant, IT department, beauty section and hospitality areas.
The 55,972 sq ft three-storey building will be connected to a grade-II listed building with materials including red brick and solar control protected curtain walling.
David Glazebrook, director of CPMG, said: “We are delighted to have designed a major new building for the college which provides a strong urban presence and encloses a new landscaped heart to the campus. We look forward to working with a very strong and proactive project team to deliver this scheme and further adding to our portfolio of work in the education sector which continues to expand.”
Work is set to start on site in June 2011 and is due to be completed in July 2012.
