Brian James up for sale
A buyer is being sought for Brian James Holdings after it was placed in administration. The Cannock-based furniture retailer, which trades as Brian James Furnishings, has already generated interest from potential purchasers, according to administrators at MCR.
The company employs 19 people and sells bedding and upholstery brands such as Old Charm, Rauch, G Plan and Harrison Beds. John Whitfield and David Whitehouse, partners at MCR, have been appointed joint administrative receivers of the business.
Whitfield said: "Like many in the retail sector, Brian James Furnishings has experienced difficult trading conditions which have been exacerbated by a further downturn in consumer spending.
"The company is trading as normal at present while all options are considered. There is already interest from potential purchasers and we hope to be able to secure a sale of the business and assets as a going concern in due course."
