BP pension fund in deep freeze deal

The investment arm of the BP pension fund has bought a 200,000 sq ft freezer and cold storage unit in the West Midlands. Ropemaker Properties snapped up the property for £15m.

Powell Williams advised on the deal involving the cold store on Hams Hall Distribution Park, Coleshill. The building consultancy carried out the acquisition survey.

The cold store was purchased on a sale and leaseback agreement from Partner Logistics, which will continue to operate the warehouse.

Powell Williams is a national building consultancy with offices in London, Birmingham and Chester.

Its services include acquisition and vendors’ surveys, dilapidation strategies, refurbishment, maintenance, expert witness advice, project management and development monitoring.
