Event Hire takes on Jongor Birmingham
Walsall-based Event Hire has acquired furniture and catering equipment hire business Jongor Birmingham. The deal is expected to boost Event Hire’s turnover by £300,000 per year.
Event Hire, which was formed in 2005 by Les Vipond and Phil Edwards, has not disclosed the details of the transaction.
The company purchased all of Jongor Birmingham’s stock and took on its entire staff after the latter stopped trading last month.
Les Vipond, managing director for Event Hire, said: “Event Hire has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Jongor Birmingham for many years, ensuring a seamless acquisition. The merger means that Event Hire has further enhanced its already vast selection of quality hire equipment.”
Vipond added that the acquisition had no impact upon Jongor’s second site in Bristol, which will continue trading as usual.
He said: “We’re delighted by the acquisition and we’re confident that the acquisition of Jongor’s supplies and all of its staff will enable us to continue to deliver the excellent service we pride ourselves upon.”
