Sixty-four jobs have been saved at Breaston-based Litho Supplies UK. The business was bought by Belgian digital printing company Agfa. Litho Supplies was sold by corporate restructuring firm Valco Capital Partners and advised by Leamington Spa-based law firm Wright Hassall.

Litho Supplies – a former FTSE 100 company – has been in difficulties before - in late 2009, the company went through a management buyout after entering administration.

A statement on Litho Supplies’ website read: “Agfa Graphics have long been a major supplier to Litho Supplies and both parties view this acquisition as a natural fit and a logical progression in their ongoing relationship. This also offers Litho Supplies the opportunity to further grow their business in the UK.

“For our customer it is business as usual, as Litho Supplies will continue to trade as a separate entity from the parent company, and will continue to offer its portfolio of products and systems from a broad range of suppliers.

“Litho Supplies now moves forward with the secure backing of one the largest suppliers in print.”

Robert Lee, who leads the Wright Hassall corporate team, said: “It is great that we have been able to play a part in saving so many jobs.

“Litho will trade as a separate entity from the parent company and will continue to offer its portfolio of products and systems from a broad range of suppliers.”
