Image Scan CEO in reappointment snub
Shareholders of Image Scan have defeated a motion to reappoint company CEO Louise George to the board. The Barrow-upon-Soar X-ray imaging company said it was "disappointed" by the decision.
George had retired from the board by rotation, and the company had proposed a motion to reappoint her at an AGM.
However, shareholders voted against the proposal, despite the company noting that a place on the board is "essential to her ability properly to perform" in her role. Despite the snub, George will continue in her role as CEO, and the company intends to re-present the motion at an upcoming general meeting.
Image Scan said: "The board is disappointed that certain shareholders voted against this resolution and is mindful that other shareholders, had they been present at the AGM, might have voted in favour of the resolution.
"Under the company's articles of association, the board could sanction this reappointment without recourse to shareholders but the board feels it is only right to ask all shareholders for their agreement to such a course of action."
