Key small business decision-makers from around the East Midlands gave their views on the challenges facing small firms at the Inafishbowl Business Clinic Live. The event took place at Nottingham Business Ventures' headquarters at Enterprise House in Nottingham.

The event was addressed by a panel of experts featured on the website including internet marketing consultant Susan Hallam from Hallam Communications, PR consultant Greg Simpson from Press for Attention PR, teamwork specialist Rosie Garwood from Reflection Consulting, Steve Marjoram from RSM Tenon and Gavin White from Fraser Brown Solicitors.

The debate covered issues including managing cash flow, websites management, online and offline PR, social enterprise and team working online.

Carl Benfield from Prescient Power said: “For me, the best answers were to the questions everyone else was asking, and that I had never thought of in the first place. I guess this lies at the heart of what makes Inafishbowl such a great project.”

Mike Hunter from betterlanguages.com, added: “We found the expert advice on both online and offline marketing extremely helpful, especially Susan Hallam’s comment about the danger of being ‘technology led’ with website improvements, rather than customer led.”

Amanda Waring from Mama Jewels said: “I was quite nervous about the evening, but actually really enjoyed the experience. The advice from the experts at the Business clinic live was invaluable, they have highlighted new avenues to explore for Mama Jewels and really addressed some of the challenges that our small but evolving business is facing and I particularly loved the audience participation.”
