Siemens to invest £5m in Lincoln

Engineering giant Siemens has announced plans to invest £5m in its Lincoln city centre factory. The company said the move will secure 140 jobs at its Ruston Works plant.

Siemens will create a new ‘centre of competence’ for its small gas turbine range at the site, and plans for the development have now been submitted to Lincoln City Council.

The new centre will operate alongside Siemens' new turbine manufacturing business, which employs 900 people.

Councillor Marc Jones, deputy leader and regeneration portfolio holder at the City of Lincoln Council, said: “This is terrific news for the city and the county which demonstrates that Lincoln is a great location where engineering businesses can invest with confidence and really thrive.

“Siemens is one of the world class engineering firms we have in the Greater Lincoln area and their decision to further invest in the city is a real shot in the arm for the local economy.”
