Two of Channel 4’s property personalities are set to speak at a conference at De Montfort University (DMU) later this month.

Angela Brady, who appears on Channel 4’s The Home Show and ITV’s Building the Dream, will speak about the challenges and opportunities currently faced by built environment professionals.

Also speaking at the event will be Chris Brown, chief executive of Igloo Regeneration and an adviser to Channel 4’s The Castleford Project regeneration programme. He will speak about how design quality can be achieved during times of austerity

Brown said: “The poor quality building design of the last decade has been ended by the recession. The challenge now is to transform planning and development to deliver great places as the market slowly recovers.”

Other property professionals from across the country, including Julian Marsh from Nottingham-based Marsh: Grochowski Architects, are lined up to speak at the conference.

The event is being hosted by the East Midlands’ architecture centre, Opun. It will be held on Monday 28 March from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
