Belton Cheese, based in Shropshire, has secured a deal to supply Tesco with three lines for their Finest cheese range. The new products represent a retail value of £1.5m, said the company.

The three cheeses which will feature in-store are Rinded Red Leicester, Rinded Double Gloucester and Cheshire.

David Harman, senior cheese buyer at Tesco, said: "We are delighted to be working in partnership with Belton Cheese and pleased that they will be joining the Tesco Finest range of cheeses. We really care about using outstanding quality ingredients made by experts who care and Belton truly epitomise this.

"Their ability to produce consistent award winning cheeses, handmade on the farm, using locally sourced milk makes them a perfect and welcome addition to the Finest food family."

The Belton Far sub-brand will be printed on each product alongside the Tesco Finest labelling.

Tesco has also confirmed that it will increase distribution on Belton Cheese’s Organic Medium and Mature Cheddars, both of which are currently supplied in-store.
