The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is to hold an event this week encouraging the region’s business to trade with Canada.

Gilda Carbone, from the British Consulate in Toronto, will be speaking to West Midlands businesses about the export and trading opportunities available. Representatives from the Canadian High Commission in London will also be presenting.

Anthony Andrews, from WM Business Futures, will discuss access to finance for international trade, and one-to-one sessions will also be available with visiting market specialists and international trade advisers.

Alan Durham, international trade director of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Canada is one of the top ten economies in the world and this is a great opportunity for companies in the region.

“It has seen growth in many areas including ICT, medical, renewable energy and business and professional services. The UK is Canada’s primary European trading partner so it is a market that businesses here should be looking to tap into.”

The event will be held at the Oak Tree Court headquarters in Binley from 10.30am until 2pm on Tuesday, 8 March.
