Two regional director appointments have been made at NatWest in the East Midlands. John Maude will take on the position in the business banking division and Adrian Fern will step up to the role in the bank’s commercial banking sector.

Maude will take responsibility for running the NatWest business banking operations across the region, which supports businesses that turnover up to £2m.

Fern will assume responsibility for the commercial banking business, which supports businesses turning over between £2m to £25m.

The pair take on the roles as the bank creates two specialist divisions to look after the small and medium size business market in the East Midlands.

Maude is to run a team of six directors and 102 managers across 44 branches and offices. Fern has a team of five directors and 45 managers based within six business centres.

Maude said: “We are changing the way we serve the East Midlands small and medium size business marketplace by providing management support to what we perceive to be two distinct markets. In doing so we are placing our most experienced managers, who are all local to the cities and towns they operate within, with those customers who can benefit most from their knowledge and business contacts.”
