Mapara takes on Cedarwood
Northampton-based care home Cedarwood Nursing Home has been bought by entrepreneur Manoj Mapara. Mapara, who owns two other care homes in the East Midlands, bought Cedarwood after securing a finance facility from Santander Corporate Banking.
The home on Kettering Road comprises 32 beds and a neighbouring property that was the previous owner’s home.
Planning permission for a 14 bedroom extension has already been secured.
Mapara also owns two further care homes in Redruth Nursing Home in Northampton and St Bennett’s Care Home in Leicester.
Details of the purchase and the finance facility were not disclosed.
Ian Brown, relationship director at Santander Corporate Banking, said: "I’m really pleased we have been able to support the purchase of Cedarwood Nursing Home. At Santander Corporate Banking, our approach is based on relationship building and getting to know the individual business.
"This has been a key factor in our agreement with Mr Mapara, who has a strong and realistic vision for the future, making him an ideal customer for Santander."
