Label Apeel breaks into German market
Label Apeel, the Leicester-based label manufacturer, has secured two deals with companies based in Germany.
The company, which is expanding into the drinks market, has signed exclusive deals with Weingut Herbert Becker - a vineyard in the Kraichgau wine region; and Mall-Brau – a brewery in Meckesheim, to supply bottle labels.
Label Apeel previously limited the provision of its services to the food, retail and manufacturing industries.
Stuart Kellock, managing director at Label Apeel, said: “We were interested in helping them to solve their problems; in the German industry few labelling businesses are willing to invest the time and effort for smaller brands. We helped the winery modernise its look and the brewery to solve a technical quality issue.”
Label Apeel has replaced the previous design on Weingut Herbert Becker’s bottles, which featured two labels, with a self-adhesive wrap around label for its products.
The company said it was now targeting further clients at home and throughout Europe in the drinks sector. Label Apeel said beverage clients could make up half of the company’s turnover, as it plans an “aggressive” targeting across the continent.
