Two in at EDF Tax

Nottingham-based EDF Tax has appointed two senior managers to its tax consultancy team. Alan Garratt and Ian Flood have joined the firm from Grant Thornton.

Garratt joins from Grant Thornton’s Leicester office, where he provided advice on employee incentives, corporate transactions, inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning. He started at the firm’s Sheffield office in 1995.

Providing tax advisory services principally to small businesses and owner managers in the region. Flood was also employed at Grant Thornton’s Leicester office from 2006. Prior to that, he worked at Cooper Parry in Nottingham.

Kim MacDonald, partner at EDF Tax, said: “Alan and Ian both bring many years of experience as chartered tax advisers that will prove a real asset to our tax consultancy team, which works in partnership with accountants, IFAs and solicitors to assist their clients on all tax issues and dealing with the complexities of the UK tax regime.

“Alan will use his expertise in providing inheritance tax and capital gains tax advice to lead the tax planning services in these areas, while Ian will take up a project-based role working on the continuous development of our range of tax mitigation strategies.”
