Briggs wins £5m Travis Perkins contract

Share | |

Briggs Equipment, based in Cannock, has won a £5m contract to supply almost 400 trucks to Northampton builders’ merchant Travis Perkins. The new flexible hire contract is the latest agreement between the pair.

Through the contract, Briggs will supply a wide range of Yale forklift trucks and other materials handling equipment.

The deal also includes a partnership with an unnamed Staffordshire-based industrial battery manufacturer, which will supply a battery system solution offering up to 30 per cent increased efficiency.

Richard Close, chief executive of Briggs Equipment, said: “This is a national contract and our service centre here in Cannock acts as the main hub for all of Travis Perkins’ sites across the country. We are delighted to renew this agreement, the scale of which helps to secure local jobs for local people at a time when many jobs are being lost.”
