Insurance man David Brett dies
David Brett, known for his links to the East Midlands insurance industry, has died aged 64. Brett, who co-founded Leicester-based Brett & Randall in 1982, died at his home in Bingham, Nottinghamshire.
Andy Underwood, the new managing director at Brett & Randall - who began his career working for Brett, said: "People like David simply do not exist in insurance anymore, he was an absolute one-off and will be sadly missed by his family friends and ex work colleagues."
His colleagues have described Brett as a "larger than life character" who was "well known and respected in insurance circles".
He retired from his business in 2006 which has gone on to grow and now employs 98 staff from its offices in Bond Street, Leicester.
Nottingham-born Brett leaves behind wife, Kathy, and daughter, Olivia.
