Westleigh signs up to Lloyds

Leicestershire-based Westleigh has switched its day-to-day banking facilities to Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets. The property developer said it was “important to have the backing of a strong banking partner” after moving from its previous bank.

The structures put in place by Lloyds Bank’s East Midlands team are intended to support Westleigh’s ongoing growth and development.

Westleigh, which employs more than 200 people, recorded a turnover of £68.8m in 2010.

Judy Beighton, director of Westleigh, said: "In the current climate, it’s more important than ever for us to feel like we have the backing of a strong banking partner, and this is something we’ve found in Lloyds.

"As well as offering us a competitive package, the bank’s team clearly understands our business, our markets and our goals. The transition between banks has also been a very smooth process, which was a pleasant surprise."

Westleigh has recently started construction on the first phase of a joint venture development with Trafalgar Global, at the former British United Shoe Machinery (BUSM) site on Melton Road, Leicester.
