Apprentice star to visit DMU
The Apprentice runner-up Chris Bates is to visit De Montfort University (DMU) in Leicester today to speak about careers in creative industries. The former University of Nottingham student is the special guest at the 'Creative Industries Careers Fair'.
Bates was the youngest ever finalist on the BBC show, which was broadcast late last year.
During his visit, Bates will be networking with exhibitors and delegates as well as talking to student radio station Demon FM. He will also record two podcasts – one about the graduate recruitment process and another about the importance of enterprise.
Bates was picked from more than 40,000 applicants to appear on the television show, which is fronted by Lord Alan Sugar. He described the experience as challenging but fun.
He said: “It was effectively a 12-week insight into all facets of business, as well as being the world’s toughest job interview.”
The Creative Industries Careers Fair will be held in DMU’s Queens Building.
