Clarke Willmott agrees HSBC funding deal
Clarke Willmott has secured a finance package from HSBC to fund its national growth plan. The law firm, which has offices in Bristol and Taunton, said the money will be invested into areas of expertise including construction and real estate.
Following a strategic review of the business, Clarke Willmott appointed HSBC as its new bankers and to create a funding package to assist with expansion plans. Areas of expertise including construction, renewables, sport, private client work, intellectual property and employment will benefit from the funding, as will the firm’s growing London operation.
Stephen Rosser, chief executive of Clarke Willmott, said: “The changing landscape of the legal sector, which has intensified competition, and the economic downturn has significantly challenged law firms. However, we have seen it as an opportunity to reshape and refocus the business and we are very much now back on the growth path, reflected by the fact that we are ahead of budget in this financial year."
The sum of the funding package was not disclosed.
