East Mids submits 62 RGF bids
Parties from the East Midlands submitted 62 proposals to the first round of Regional Growth Fund (RGF) bidding. The region put forward 13 per cent of the total UK bids which were submitted to the panel.
A total of 464 bids were submitted in the first round for a portion of the £1.4bn cash pot. The bids amounted to £2.78bn.
Of the 62 proposals put forward by East Midlands authorities and organisations, 38 were submitted by the Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Derby LEP, 14 from the South East Midlands partnership, nine from Leicester and Leicestershire LEP and five from the LEP in Lincolnshire.
Just 76 of the 464 UK-wide bids were not proposed by a LEP. Of all the bids, just 4 per cent requested less than £1m. Sixty-four per cent required between £1m to £5m and 4 per cent have submitted a bid for more than £25m.
