Investment sought for Leicester speedway
Businesses and entrepreneurs across Leicestershire are being encouraged to invest in a new £1.2m speedway stadium. Investors and sponsors are being sought for Beaumont Park Stadium, home to speedway team Leicester Lions.
Regional business adviser Cooper Parry said it is seeking investment from entrepreneurs and discussed how small businesses can get involved through sponsorship, advertising and commercial deals.
Kevin Harris, partner at Cooper Parry in Leicester, said: “Under the current economic circumstances, the management have done exceptionally well to get this project this far. We are now looking at phase two, taking it to the next level, which will further develop and strengthen the venture.
“Our aim is to bring in both entrepreneurial investors and local business owners who are attracted by the potential returns and the various sponsorship opportunities this project presents.”
The Beaumont Park site will be used to host the first Leicester Lions speedway match on 2 April. Long term plans for the site include usage by different local sports teams.
American Football club Leicester Falcons and rugby league club Leicester Storm have already held preliminary talks about making Beaumont Park their new home.
