Ilkeston care home project commences
Herbert Baggaley Construction, based in Mansfield, has begun work on a £1.3m project for Winland Care. The construction team will build an extension to the Bramble Lodge care home in Ilkeston.
The extension will include a 24 bedded, two-storey extension, and a 312 sq ft extension to the dining room. The existing under-building will be converted into a new lounge area with a drinks servery. A former hairdressing room will be transformed into a new food preparation area whilst the previous treatment room is being turned into the hairdressing room.
Alterations to the driveway and drainage systems are also planned.
Ian Baggaley, managing director at Herbert Baggaley Construction, said: "It is a pleasure to work for Winland Care on this project which will see a welcome transformation of Bramble Lodge. Once we have completed the work, the residents at Bramble Lodge will benefit from improved space and facilities so we are really looking forward to getting started."
Designed by Yorkshire architect Watson Batty, the project is due for completion in October 2011.
