Chapco lights up with fifth acquisition
LAUK Lighting, based in Staffordshire, has been acquired by Leicestershire-headquartered Chapco Group. The deal was backed by private equity investor Next Wave Partners and was advised by Midlands’ law firm Harvey Ingram.
Chapco provides facilities management, telecomms, IT and project solutions. The acquisition of LAUK Lighting is the company’s fifth in the past 18 months.
Funding for the deal, which is undisclosed, was provided by Next Wave Partners.
LAUK distributes indoor and outdoor architectural lighting. The business will now be rebranded Chapco Lighting, and a number of key staff will remain with the business, said Chapco.
Chapco Group chairman, Alan Curtis, said: “This acquisition continues our goal of expanding our blue chip client base and enlarging our in-house delivery capability, both through acquisition and organic growth. I am looking forward to working with our new colleagues.”
Lisa Botterill from Harvey Ingram advised the takeover. She said: “This strategic and sizeable deal will help Chapco Group continue to cement its dominant position in an extremely competitive market place. These deals typify the type of work Harvey Ingram’s corporate team excels at and we’re delighted to be an ongoing part of Chapco’s success story.”
