Klober UK moves into EMDC

Roof specialist Klober UK has taken a 40,000 sq ft unit at the East Midlands Distribution Centre (EMDC) in Castle Donington. Klober joins the 200-acre development which will be home to a 1 million sq ft distribution centre for retail & Marks and Spencer.

EMDC’s owner Clowes Developments has agreed letting terms with the roofing specialist on Unit 6F. The company will take residence in the centre in March 2011, relocating from Shepshed at Junction 23 of the M1.

David Arendell, UK managing director for Klober, said: “Our existing premises at junction 23 are somewhat dated and their age, height and accessibility were restricting the efficiency of our business. We chose EMDC as it provides a new distribution warehouse with clear span space internally, separate car parking and loading space in a highly accessible location.”

Other tenants at EMDC include Birlea Furniture, which has leased a 36,000 sq ft unit at the site. The centre is set to be the home of Marks and Spencer at the end of the year, as the company has agreed to lease leasing a new 1 million sq ft distribution unit.

FHP and Savills Birmingham acted jointly on the letting, with BNP Paribas Birmingham acting on behalf of Klober.
