Virgin Media lands at Eagle Court
Virgin Media has doubled its office space at the Eagle Court development in Birmingham with an 11,000 sq ft extension. Aviva Investors secured the deal for the entertainment giant and the Birmingham office of property agent DTZ agreed the terms of the lease.
Virgin Media initially took 11,000 sq ft of space in early 2010 and has now opted to expand into a further 11,000 sq ft to consolidate a number of its regional offices.
Eagle Court comprises three office buildings seven miles from Birmingham city centre. The development is also home to Lloyds TSB and TSB Autolease.
Matthew Long, associate director at DTZ in Birmingham, said: “Eagle Court was specifically designed to accommodate medium sized businesses to large corporations. This, coupled with the availability of high quality office space in an accessible location with ample car parking, meant it was the perfect fit for Virgin Media’s requirements.”
Paul Harris, executive director of property at Virgin Media, said: “By relocating to Eagle Court we have been able to access great quality accommodation whilst providing the business with a cost effective solution to facilitate the further consolidation of our existing property portfolio.
"We were attracted by the flexibility and physical appearance of the building, and the floorplates provided the business with the utilisation options it required.”
Property specialists DTZ, CBRE and KWB together with DTZ are joint agents at Eagle Court.
