Abacus becomes chamber patron
Telecommunications specialist the Abacus Business Consultancy has become the latest organisation to sign up as a patron of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce.
The firm, based on the NG2 Business Park in Nottingham, works with manufacturers such as BlackBerry, Nokia, Crystal Ball and Navman Wireless to offer telecoms and vehicle/mobile phone tracking solutions.
Abacus becomes the chamber’s second patron of 2011, alongside The Money Shop, which signed up in January. The patron’s scheme is aimed at businesses that want to take a leading role in the local business community.
East Midlands Airport, Eon, Experian, Wilkinson, Imperial Tobacco and PricewaterhouseCoopers are among the chamber’s other patrons.
Ian Morgan, president of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber, said: “I am delighted to welcome The Abacus Business Consultancy on board as the chamber’s latest patron.
“Telecommunications play a key role in any business, so we are pleased to be adding this dynamic and forward-thinking organisation to our patron’s group, which will complement the skills and experience of the rest of the chamber’s patrons for the ultimate benefit of members.
“The chamber’s patrons are a powerful force in influencing policies, driving economic growth and development and equipping smaller businesses with the knowledge and skills that are vital to their future success.”
