Waterra to head overseas in US deal
Waterra, the Solihull-based supplier of groundwater monitoring equipment, has been sold to US-headquartered In-Situ. Waterra’s shareholder’s said the deal was agreed after they decided to “review their options” following the loss of a close colleague.
Waterra was founded by hydrogeologists David Charlesworth and Peter Dumble in 1991 in Solihull. It now supplies groundwater monitoring equipment and support training to companies operating across the UK and Ireland.
Under the terms of the sale, Waterra’s former managing director Peter Dumble will remain with the business, where he will help oversee the expansion of In-Situ into Europe.
Colorado-based In-Situ designs and manufactures environmental equipment for monitoring the quantity and quality of groundwater and surface water.
Dumble said: "Having spent nearly 20 years growing a thriving business, the other shareholders and I decided to sell to a larger company that could continue our success and take the business to the next level. We are confident that In-Situ is the right partner, and, under their direction, we will continue our leadership in the industry.”
Haslingden-based merger and acquisition specialist BCMS Corporate advised Waterra on the deal.
